I believe in laughter... I believe in warm summer nights... I believe in the miracle of life... I believe in running barefoot chasing lightnin bugs... I believe in toothless giggles, and messy hair... I believe childhood is magical... I believe life is beautiful... I believe you can never have too many pictures... I believe in capturing life... I believe pictures should tell stories... -YOUR STORY-

Photo of me & my babies taken by the talented Rachel May.

we simply age….

For the past two years or so now, I have been blogging on my birthday. I wanted to keep up with the tradition b/c one day it will be neat to look back on these posts. How I looked…. how I wrote….. how I felt about life in general. I am now a year older. My last year in my 20′s. I am now a mom to an 11 1/2 year old… who will be starting 6th grade. I celebrated my 12th wedding anniversary. We didnt renew our vows like planned… but instead put that money towards a barn and horse for our daughter. My favorite colors are gray & yellow. I still love pizza… I doubt that will ever change. I lost a wonderful aunt this year…… one of the worst parts of life… when you grow older, so do those around you. It means saying goodbye to those who you’ve known since you could remember… and that part hurts. My favorite ice cream is raspberry… homemade by my hubby. My favorite piece of jewelry is the necklace my husband got me for mothers day, with all three of my childrens name on it. My favorite piece of clothing… is cardigans. I love to be silly & laugh. I love my family. I adore my friends. I want to get closer to God in the next year, like never before. I am Jessica. I was born on July 26th and today…. I welcomed 29.

Someone asked me a month back or so… what about getting closer to 30 scared me…. and the truth is.. it doesnt. I am thankful to be growing older. Each year brings new surprises… challenges.. lessons. I am thankful. I do know the part I dont like… is how fast life is going by. It really seems like yesterday I couldnt wait to be 18… and now I’m 29. It just flew by. So I’m going to soak in life…. enjoy every minute. I’m going to be thankful this year…. more than ever before. I’m going to laugh this year… more than ever before. I have so much…. to be thankful for.

“I am convinced that most people do not grow up…We marry and dare to have children and call that growing up. I think what we do is mostly age. We carry accumulation of years in our bodies, and on our faces, but generally our real selves, the children inside, are innocent and shy as magnolias.”
