I spent all day saturday with Addi. We made a “fairy cottage” for her new Tinkerbell doll she got. We collected leaves & sticks in a basket. Its funny b/c the box is the box to my camera. The only box we could find…Addi painted the walls. We found a little chunk of wood that made a perfect nightstand. On it sits a acorn bowl …..with a lace table cloth. I made her a cardboard box bed, complete with handsewn dust ruffle. I knitted her a blanket…. & her pillows are cotton balls. The same picture thats in Addi’s room hangs below the secret peep window. The floors are wooden, made with Popsicle sticks. I made her a rug for her entryway & a tiny broom to keep her floors clean. The curtains are hung from tiny sticks & tied with yarn. A bell hangs on the front door so Addi will always know when Tinkerbell goes inside. The door knob is a pink rose. We had the most wonderful day creating this together.
“Know you what it is to be a child?…It is to believe in love, to believe in loveliness, to believe in belief; it is to be so little that the elves can reach to whisper in your ear, it is to turn pumpkins into coaches, and mice into horses, lowness into loftiness, and nothing into everything, for each child has its fairy godmother in its soul.”"
