I believe in laughter... I believe in warm summer nights... I believe in the miracle of life... I believe in running barefoot chasing lightnin bugs... I believe in toothless giggles, and messy hair... I believe childhood is magical... I believe life is beautiful... I believe you can never have too many pictures... I believe in capturing life... I believe pictures should tell stories... -YOUR STORY-

Photo of me & my babies taken by the talented Rachel May.

The story of another layer

I had tried before…. and she had NO interest.

I didnt want to force the issue… she is my last baby after all.

I was tired of my hubby telling me that if he stayed home with her for a week… she would be trained.

This was a sore subject to me…

I felt as though what was left of her baby hood…. was chipping away.

This would be the last time I potty trained one of my children….

On January 23rd I decided to start … full force.

Day one was not so great….. she never peed on the potty.

Potty training won. But I decided I would be coming back full force the next day.

Day 2 came.

Accident … after accident…

Dora undie. after Dora undie.

Her favorite candy waiting…..

She was more interested in tearing the toilet paper into shreds than anything…

and then just when I thought it would never happen…

at 2:26 pm on January 24th 2012 Addi peed on the potty for the first time.

She grinned the biggest grin ever.. I started clapping and cheering.. and I even teared up.

The Addison I knew before this moment had changed… she would no longer be JUST like that again.

Another baby layer… peeled away.

I gave her a Reese cup… and we did the potty dance.

I told her how proud I was of her… and at that moment.. she looked so happy.

My last baby. Another milestone. Such a bittersweet moment.

She called her daddy to tell him…. and wanted her my little pony he had promised her.

Another little piece of my last baby… gone.

Ever see a photographer who starts out with a 365 day project, or even a 52 week project and never finishes? Yeah, me too. Well, I recently joined a group of a few other busy photographers who decided to commit to a 12 month project! If we fail this, we’ll be taking donations for a time management seminar. The best part is that it will be totally candid, lifestyle shots of each of our own families/lives. We don’t even have to dredge up random people or make our kids pose for us. We’re calling the series “The Story of ________” and we’ll each be filling in our own blanks. At the end of this post is a link to another photographer who participated and she’ll be linking to someone else. It’s a whole big circle of stories in pictures. Click through and enjoy!

Please head on over to Jennifer Reif’s blog, to see her story this month.
